I got some large rough lumber and logs at a great price. My 18″ bandsaw has a 12″ resaw and my jointer has 8″ limit. So I needed a chainsaw to chop the large slabs of lumber down to size for further ripping on my bandsaw. Then I can create final dimensional lumber with my jointer and tablesaw.

A gas powered chainsaw was no good because I wanted to do the work in my garage at night. An electric chainsaw was the answer and I love my makita tools, so this makita electric chainsaw was a no-brainer.
