This is part of a series of videos where I wanted to capture a sense of the real Japan during my vacation. All videos are in high definition and shot with a 7D and 10-22mm lens and opteka steadicam. Additional video processing with Deshaker.

The audio in this video was ruined by a guy near the tracks that was cutting weeds with a loud weed trimmer… so I substituted a recording I made at a nearby shrine.

Here is a quick tutorial on how to stabilize your shaky hand held video.

Using the free virtualdub and deshaker plugin.
Shaky video is more common with digital video cameras like the canon 5d and 7d.
After effects and Sony Vegas have video stabilization tools, but Deshaker is free and produces more flexible and better quality results.

If your a machinist, then you have to have a metal bandsaw to cut down raw material.
Most hobby metal bandsaws are like this chinese model. A little bit of tuning up and mods can make a big difference.
