There are many good techniques to gain mechanical advantage in your workshop. The bigger your shop gets, the bigger your tools become. Moving and lifting tools into place can be difficult and possibly cause injury. I like to use mechanical advantage whenever I can. This video shows how you can lift hundreds of pounds all by yourself without breaking a sweat :)
I’ve been seriously busy for many months working on my latest project. A software program called Excel2MySQL available at excel2mysql.net
What is it? Like the name implies… it allows you to import Excel files into MySQL database tables.
IMHO nothing else is as easy, fast, or accurate… Nothing!
I stand behind that claim and I am prepared to take on all contrary opinions (including the common practice of using CSV files and the LOAD DATA command).
You can see a comparison to other products here: http://www.excel2mysql.net/compare.html
I’ve been doing SQL (DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL…) since 1990 and this is truly best in class software if you are using MySQL.
In any case, I welcome your feedback.
I know what your thinking… wood finishes are a very subjective topic and there really is no single best finish. But this woodworking finish is my personal favorite, especially on walnut, which is my favorite wood. It’s a finish made famous by amazing woodworkers like Sam Maloof and George Nakashima.
This finish may not be the most durable or the cheapest, but it feels the most natural to me.
A really versatile gooseneck GoPro mount.
I love my chesty GoPro Mount and of course the suction cup mount is great for some situations, but my new favorite mount is not available in stores.
So I made it out of a gooseneck lamp and an irwin spring clamp.
