hey alan…i was curious about the kill switch wiring hookup. i has recently built my motorized bike, and was not too sure on what i was doing wrong. i tried watching your 3 part video, and could see how you wired your setup. perhaps my ground(green wire for this model) relaying from the kill switch has bad connection. im not too sure if i need to screw it on frame or what? any intel you might share would be awesome.

Any cheap punch will work, like these:

And a block of wood with a hole that has a diameter close to the diameter of the pin being removed from the chain. Then, put the chain with pin to be removed over the hole and hit the pin with a punch and hammer. It only takes a few solid raps with the hammer.

Thanks Kevin. Sorry, I no longer have this engine kit on my bike. I’m planning to install my honda tiller’s 4 cycle motor on my bike with a friction drive. I prefer the smoother and more reliable honda engine. Check with the guys at these forums… they should be able to provide some good advice on your problem. I never got mine perfect either.

wow; great diy site; i have you bookmarked. Do you take requests for video’s? . i desperately need to see someone actually modeling the installation of the rear sprocket; i refer to part 2/3 on your motorized bike video. in that video in the segment on the chain, at point 3mins., you say how the chain was out of alignment and you would have to fiddle with the sprocket some more to get it right. I am hoping you can do a “fiddling” video:) specifically the way you make that crazy “rag joint” sprocket concentric or true. i have mine on for a four stroke mount so i put the teeth out with the three half moon washers against the inside of the spr. , then one of the rubber spacers then through the spokes into the other “cut” rubber spacer and the two half moon washers and then the nuts..
my wheel is spinning on the bike where i have a fixed rod touching the sprocket and i’m trying to loosen and tighten my way to concentricity to no avail. it’s running in and out like crazy; also measured from the rim to the teeth and i’m a 1/16 off there.

please do a video of this or write back and give me an easy way to accomplish this if you can find it in your heart to do so; this phase is holding up my show. try and imagine you do not have all those fantastic tools in your awesome shop to work with:)

to help myself, i replaced the china bolts with american standard and nylock nuts.
